LISTENING AS A LIFESTYLE
A typical session

Each hour long session will include a mixture of education through Mind and Body, starting with talking and transitioning to breathing, stretching, and moving the body.

Mind - I will bring up conversations on the nervous system, and its role on our experience of safety that is felt in the body. We will practice recognizing patterns in behaviours with a focus on how the patterns show up in our daily lives.

Body - we will focus on what you are feeling now, how we can learn to feel safe again, and how to naturally release stored trauma, tension, and stress using these tools:
Mindfulness
We will focus on these components of mindfulness : Presence, Neutrality, Observation, Practice
Body Awareness
Using both movement and meditation techniques to build the power of your mind to be aware of the sensations of your body.
Breathing
Using several techniques to calm or activate our nervous system depending on our current needs.
Trauma Release Exercise - Simple stretches that creates artificial tension in the hips, followed by a natural release of this tension that leads to the body being able to release tension held elsewhere in the body.
TRE is facilitated without the need for any physical touch between facilitator and client.
Integration is Essential
At the end of each session I will take time to integrate what we have learned together, and prepare you to head back into your everyday life. I will incorporate soothing music and relaxing meditations.
Please note that while my sessions are relaxing in nature, I do not promise a life devoid of sadness, pain, or challenging emotions.
Instead, my aim is to empower you with the felt experience that you possess the strength, resilience, and tools to navigate life at a deeper, more intimate level. I am interested in helping you increase your capacity for life's ups and downs, allowing you to feel free to feel like yourself.

Session Types

Private 1 - 1
Dive deep into understanding your own body and nervous system. Private sessions often allow for a deeper exploration of the clients experience because as facilitator I can adapt our tools and speed to best work for you.

Private Group
Explore this natural form of healing with a group of friends or loved ones. Heal together with people you are close and comfortable with and feel the power of a group with a shared focus and attention.

Workshops
These are pre scheduled group classes. Build community and release tension together with like minded individuals.
Are all sessions the same?
Each person is on their own journey of healing bringing their unique backgrounds. Because of this, I adapt sessions and plans to accommodate the individual person, and what they are bringing each new day. Healing through the body is about listening to the body and allowing it to access it's natural self regulating. Each session will guide you closer to understanding how to do this for yourself as you go about life - not just in therapeutic sessions.
